We are excited to announce that the Yeats & Asia Symposium will include a screening of a documentary about the production of The Cat and the Moon that the Blue Raincoat theatre company will put on in Sligo this summer, with interviews and scenes from rehearsals as well as the play itself. The director of the production, Niall Henry, will be at the symposium to present the documentary. Also attending is Kaoru Matsumoto, director for the Shigeyama family in Kyoto, one of the two traditional kyogen theatre companies in Japan, and recognised as a "national treasure" by the Japanese government. His theatre company have performed a Japanese version of the Yeats play, itself based on the translation of a kyogen classic.
